Beat The Heat: Cool Ways To Wave Or Curl Your Hair Without A Heat Tool

Forgot to pack your heat styling tool? Or, there's no power outlets in sight? Don't ditch your grand style plans for a curly or wavy 'do! Here's how to curl and wave your hair sans curler, straightener or any other kind heat styling device.

Braid Waves

Who needs a curling iron when you can just braid your way to relaxed, beachy waves! The preparation for this look starts the night before – on just washed hair apply a curl enhancing product like L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Dual Stylers Bouncy & Tender and then dry completely. From there, it's time to get your braid on. For looser waves, one or two plaits is all you need. For more well-defined waves you'll need loads of mini braids. The next morning, release all the plaits and smooth some L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil over your locks for polished waves with a glossy finish.

Mini Bun Curls

Mini buns were all the rage back in the '90s – but little did we know this quirky hair style is also an excellent hair curling shortcut! If you want your hair to be curly at night, that morning you'll need to apply a couple of 10cent coin sized drops of L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Liss Control Serum to the lengths of freshly washed hair. Once the hair is dry, twist small to medium sections into mini buns all over the head, securing each bun in place with a bobby pin. Then just before you head out the door at night, mist the buns with L'Oréal Professionnel Infinium Lacquer for hold and then release the bobby pins to reveal twirly curls. From there take a paddle brush or just use your fingers to lightly loosen the curls and style into place.
